Portland, Oregon non profit Project Lemonade provides resources for foster youth to realize their gifts and gain confidence, so they achieve success in school and life. They do this through the Project Lemonade store, the Foster The Future Internship program, and the W.I.S.H. program.
Foster youth face unique challenges, especially in the COVID-19 era. For example, employment loss for existing foster families has put deeper pressure on an already stretched income. And children enter the foster care system due to increased risk factors to child safety.
So, to support foster youth during National Foster Care Month 2020 (NFCM2020), the Project Lemonade team and volunteers decided to launch a fundraising campaign. And to amplify reach, the team connected with local influencers and supporters and even landed an interview on KOIN 6.
We exceeded our fundraising goal by 26.7%
My Role
I managed the social media side of the campaign. This included fundraising strategy and best practices; designing campaign theme and assets; collaborating with influencers; and building and managing social media calendars, automation, and copywriting.
