It’s been a good week.
Ladies and gentlemen. I am prepared, proud and totally pumped to announce that I have accepted a job offer from none other than the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN)! I will join as the 5th member of the small and mighty team and will work as the Marketing and Communications Manager, reporting to the Executive Director. I start on Tuesday, May 15th.
OEN is the largest entrepreneur assistance organization in the state of Oregon. OEN’s Mission is to provide support activities and mentoring to the entrepreneurial community to foster business growth and employment opportunities in Oregon. The team at OEN is doing great things for entrepreneurs in Oregon and beyond, and I couldn’t be happier to join this team.
As the MarComm Manager I will lead all aspects of internal and external communications, including membership communications, media relations, and management of OEN web, social and e-mail channels.
What an amazing journey this has been, and I have a feeling the best is yet to come. To my friends, family and everyone that supported me over the last several months, I have three things to say to you:
- Thank you!
- Thank you!
- Thank you!
I have so many people to thank, I’m planning to release a short video so I can do it in person. Stay tuned.
A really good week.
I was listening to a recent episode of the Find Your Dream Job podcast by Mac’s List as I went about my morning routine and got excited and started laughing as I hit the 7 minute mark.
Now, I can’t be positive, but I’m pretty sure the Mac’s List team referred to my video resumé, I Got Skills, on their podcast! Or did they? Listen to this short clip of their episode ‘Why Your Bio Matters More Than Your Resume, with William Arruda’ released Apr 25, 2018, and decide for yourself.
I sent Mac a note to say thank you for the verbal nod and let him know about my new job. To my surprise, he asked if I’d be interested in sharing my job hunt story on the Mac’s List blog. Heck yeah! If that happens, I’ll definitely post it to my blog, too. So keep an eye out for that.
Mac’s List is the premier resource for helping passionate, creative professionals learn how to find meaningful and rewarding work in Portland, Oregon, and Washington. If that sounds like you, check out www.macslist.org and check out their podcast called Find Your Dream Job on iTunes.
And if that wasn’t enough, I got a new website. I’ve migrated my content from Squarespace to WordPress and I’ve redesigned the entire place. If you find any broken likes or the dreaded 404 error pages, please let me know.
A great week.
That’s it for now. It’s been quite a week. I’m so grateful for your support and excited for the future. Let’s do lunch.
Thank you.
I’m so excited for you Miles!!! Congratulations, I can’t wait to follow your journey…wishing you nothing but success!!!
Hi Rene! Thank you so much, I really appreciate that! Hope you’re well! =)
