Sunny Skies Ahead!

I am happy to announce that, after graduating with my first Bachelor’s degree 16 years ago, and through a generous program under the Trade Act, I re-enrolled at Portland State University as a Post Baccalaureate student and will begin attending full time, starting this Monday, March 28th, 2016, to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing. I’ll graduate in December of 2017.

What’s Your Plan?

Get straight A’s, then start a new career! #careerchange

Why Marketing?

I love the creative process and I’ve always enjoyed advertising, branding, and video marketing. I’ve got some experience writing and creating digital content and I look forward to helping businesses connect with people in the digital space. I’m curious about how businesses can build a tribe, advertise honestly, and put people first while remaining healthy and profitable.

What about your job search?

My job search is officially over and will resume promptly in the fall of 2017. I’ve been working on a job search update infographic for several weeks using the infographic maker www.canva.com. I just finished it a few days ago though, so although the infographic says “first 90 days”, I won’t officially resume the search until after I graduate.

Are you going to keep blogging?

I’ve got a few more posts to publish and after that I will continue to post intermittently as I have time. My next 3 posts will publish on April 4th, April 18th and May 2nd. It’s been fun! I’ve learned a ton over the last few months just by researching and blogging, and it’s a great way to stay connected with your peeps.

Thank You!

I want to give a big, giant, heartfelt, THANK YOU to my people for being so supportive, sending me job leads, recommending me on LinkedIn and elsewhere, introducing me to new people…and for supporting me as I pursue my next goal.

Happy Easter!

  1. That’s awesome Miles! I too, hold a post-baccalaureate certificate from PSU. Your job can go away but, your education can’t.

    1. Thanks, Peter! You’re totally right about that. I feel really grateful for the opportunity, and can’t wait to re-enter the world of academia after all this time.
